How to Stay Safe Online in Pakistan
Introduction
The internet is an amazing tool, but it also has risks — especially scams and phishing attacks that target people in Pakistan. This guide will help you stay safe.
1. Use a Strong Password
Use a different password for every account, and make it at least 12 characters long with numbers and symbols.
2. Recognize Phishing Emails
If an email asks you to click a link and enter your password or bank details, it is almost certainly a scam. Banks and official organizations never ask for passwords via email.
3. Keep Your Software Updated
Windows and app updates patch security holes. Enable automatic updates.
4. Use a Trusted Antivirus
Windows Defender (built into Windows 10/11) is excellent and free. Keep it enabled.
5. Back Up Your Files
Use an external hard drive or cloud storage (Google Drive, OneDrive) to back up important documents and photos.
